KEY POINTS:
internet search company Google has removed some content from web log pages used by an anonymous lobbyist to attack individual staff at Child, Youth and Family Services (CYF).
The "name-and-shame" blog has been encouraging people unhappy about CYF -- usually for removing children for care and protection -- to provide personal information about social workers.
Today the blog's author posted a message from Google saying that because the Cyfswatch blogspot was not in compliance with terms of service, "we've been forced to remove the infringing posts".
The blog said Google had been asked to explain the grounds on which it was removing content.
It also immediately re-posted its "Hall of Shame 94" listing -- one of the items which had been removed.
In that a Marlborough CYF worker was berated as a "dangerous arsehole" by a man who signed his name and named the two teenage boys he alleged had been "taken".
The writer told the CYF worker "I'm watching and waiting and never far behind you".
An internet commentator, David Farrar, said flouting Google's terms and conditions might result in the website being shut down.
Last month, the Ministry of Social Development called in the police over the postings, saying the website was putting the safety of CYF workers and their families at risk.
