Police are looking for a good samaritan who came to the aid of a woman involved in a family violence incident in Wellington early Monday morning.
The victim was allegedly assaulted by her partner outside her Camperdown Road, Miramar home around midnight, suffering serious bruising to her face.
Sergeant Andrew Compton of the Wellington police said as the victim was yelling out for help and crying, a man aged in his 30s came to her assistance.
"This man has made sure the victim was okay and we'd be very keen to speak to him as part of our inquiries into the incident," Mr Compton said.
He said police were not called to the incident, however the victim notified police yesterday.
A 30-year-old man has been charged with injuring with intent to injure and appeared in the Wellington District Court yesterday.
Sergeant Compton is urging the good samaritan to contact the Wellington Police Station to help police with their inquiries on (04) 381 2000.
