Good Samaritan in need of her own help in cancer battle

A Good Samaritan who helped a diabetic mum who collapsed earlier this year while others drove past is now needing help of her own as she battles an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Jade Howard Moore was driving in Auckland in May when she saw a woman stumbling across Massey Rd in Mangere with her son.

Motorists and pedestrians ignored the woman, but Howard Moore pulled over and discovered the pregnant woman had diabetes.

She found some lollies in her handbag to boost her blood sugar level and gave her a ride home.

She later posted a video, which went viral, of the woman crossing the road expressing disappointment about those who passed her and did not stop.

But just six months later Howard Moore, who is in her early 30s, needs some help of her own as the young mum has been diagnosed with brain tumour, stage 4 Glioblastoma, and is undergoing treatment.

The Mangere woman's friend has set-up a Givealittle page to raise money so they can professionally record a song together or have asked for access to a music studio who would donate them some recording time.

"Jade is a young mum who loves to sing... She comes from a very musical whanau and they want to record an album together while Jade is still able to sing," the page said.
