A good Samaritan helped save the life of a man with a broken neck after being assaulted in Auckland last week.
The unknown person came to the aid of the injured man after he got into a fight with a friend in Kingsland on Thursday, November 14.
Two men and a woman were drinking in Nixon Park before the altercation. They had been hanging out at the skateboard area before walking over to the toilets and onto Central Road, said constable Jason Hong Goo.
One of the men then assaulted the other, leaving him with a broken neck.
A member of the public found the man and drove him to hospital.
