Talented Masterton athlete Stevie Paine performed outstandingly at the North Island and South Island Colgate Games, winning a total of six gold and one bronze medals.
At the North Island meet at Inglewood Paine won the under-12s girls 400m event in 60.33secs, the 800m in 2mins 24secs and the 1500m in 4mins 58secs.
And at the South Island meet in Christchurch she won the same three events, the 400m in a personal best of 60.32secs, the 800m in another personal best of 2min 21.87secs and the 150mm in 5mins 1secs.
A third in the high jump with a leap of 1.43m completed her programme there.
April Campbell also tasted double success in the 80m hurdles for under-13 girls. She won the North Island title in 13.40secs and the South Island title in 13.14secs. She was also third in the 100km at the latter meet in 13.83secs.
Other Wairarapa athletes to shine at Inglewood were Courtney Fafeita, Alex Fafeita and Alison Andrews-Paul.
Courtney Fafeita won the girls 14yrs discus in 37.36m, 5m further than the distance registered by the second placegetter.
Alex Faifeta was third in the 13yrs boys shot put with a put of 10.91m and also third in the discus with a throw of 36.99m and Andrews-Paul was third in the girls 10yrs 800m in 2min 42.09secs.
At Christchurch Tom Quinn finished third in the boys under-12yrs 800m in a personal best time of 2min 24.79secs.
