KEY POINTS:
Two gold prospectors are missing after being reported overdue by six days in Golden Bay.
Howard Eastment, 66, and a friend went into the Rocky River area near Collingwood on December 31.
Senior Constable Crispin Lee said Mr Eastment was seen on January 11 and had four days of food at the time.
He said Mr Eastment was seen again on January 14 but had not been seen or heard of since.
Mr Lee said a search and rescue team was heading out from Golden Bay.
He said if anyone in the Rocky River area had seen Mr Eastment, then they should call police.
