Labour is calling Prime Minister John Key's US trip and attendance at the Nuclear Security Summit a missed opportunity.
Leader Phil Goff said Mr Key failed to pick up the challenge and build on New Zealand's proud nuclear free history. He called the Prime Minister';s statement to the summit bland and totally devoid of any initiatives or proposal to move discussions forward.
He said Mr Key could have endorsed the UN Secretary General's proposal to eliminate nuclear weapons, but instead chose to describe it as only a possibility.
