Christchurchs popular Godley Head coastal track has been formally re-opened today.
Conservation Minister Nick Smith did the honours, in time to celebrate Seaweek.
He says Godley Head took a hammering in the earthquakes, with cliffs collapsing and extensive boulder falls.
Around $480,000 has been invested in the rebuild with 450 tonnes of shingle flown to the site by helicopter.
