A body found by divers near Goat Island north of Auckland is believed to be that of a missing student.
The remains were found by two divers on July 18 and after weeks of DNA testing police believe the body is that of Yue "Alice" Gui, a University of Auckland doctoral student.
Ms Gui, 30, disappeared on June 4 from a University of Auckland faculty at Leigh.
