Women are being warned to pin their fascinators in extra tight for tomorrow's Wellington Cup Day, where winds of 20km/h are forecast.
"I guess you'll have to hold onto your hats with winds of around 20 kilometres an hour, and, with temperatures around 16 degrees, maybe take a light jumper too," MetService meteorologist Tuporo Marsters said.
Thousands are expected to pack into Trentham Racecourse for tomorrow's Wellington Cup Day tomorrow.
The event boasts horse racing alongside the traditional fashion competitions - and the less-traditional burger competition.
The Crowd Goes Wild host Hayley Holt, rugby player Nehe Milner Skudder and New Zealand Sevens coach Scott Waldrum are each designing a burger for the day, which punters will then vote for.
