KEY POINTS:
The finals of Land Rover's classic global adventure, the G4 Challenge, will take place in the most sparsely populated independent country on the planet - Mongolia.
The programme kicked off last September when the competition was announced at Frankfurt Motor Show.
Since then, recce teams have been exploring Asia to find a suitably demanding environment to stage the end of the competition next year.
The 18 national teams will compete in extreme activities. It is run in support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
