A glider pilot was in a critical condition in hospital last night after crash landing on an electric fence in Waikato.
The man crashed in a paddock in Kaikahu Rd in Kerepehi, 18km northwest of Paeroa, said Inspector Lou Alofa of the police northern communications centre.
Emergency services freed the man about 6.30pm and he was flown to Waikato Hospital.
Mr Alofa said the pilot received a shock from the electric fence and suffered burns and nerve damage to his neck and one side of his body.
