The victim of a double shooting in the west Auckland suburb of Glen Eden yesterday has lost an eye.
Surgeons operated on the 30-year-old man but could not save his eye after he was hit in the face by a shotgun blast at his Woodglen Road home.
One of the people charged over the incident was also taken to hospital after he was also hit in the face with a shotgun blast. The man, 35, remained under police guard and was charged with unlawful assembly.
Another man, 38, was due to appear in the Waitakere District Court today on a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and a woman, 36, is due to appear in court on Monday charged with being an accessory after the fact.
Other people were also expected to be charged.
Police said today they had found a .22 calibre rifle and ammunition but had yet to find a shotgun believed to have been used in the shooting.
Police said today they had also found the white Ford Falcon car which was driven away from the house moments after the shooting shortly before midday yesterday.
The second shooting victim, who had been charged, was thought to have been shot inside the house when the first man was shot.
Police said anyone with information on the shooting should contact Henderson CIB.
