He did a wheel class with well-known Gisborne potter Seymour May four years ago but didn’t start potting seriously until about a year later.
He still visits May at his home studio and will often go to him with a problem and come away having learned a lot more.
Foon, who has a design background, has created his pieces so they can be replicated. He is hoping to get into specialist shops and likes the idea of doing events that pair his ceramics with food.
