KEY POINTS:
A 25-year-old man who was stabbed in the eye during a fight last night in Gisborne remains in Waikato Hospital and is at serious risk of losing his eye.
The fight took place in a drug rehabilitation centre on Ormond Road just after 8pm.
The alleged attacker has been arrested and charged with two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Three other people were involved in the incident. One suffered a minor stab wound and was charged with assault with intent to injury for injuries received by the alleged stabber.
Police said the man stabbed in the eye also faced being charged when released from hospital.
