Molly McEwan and Dipped’n Paint were fifth in the Horse 1.15m Show Jumping Championship.
Zoe McNaught and the consistent Nitro Pandora were placed third and fourth in the Big on Writing Pony Rider Equitation Series, fourth in Category C Show Hunter, and third in The Brave Pants Company Category C High Points Series.
In the showing ring, McNaught and Nitro Pandora were third in the Working Hunter Open Pony over 138cm and not exceeding 148cm, and fourth in the Hunter Jumping Open Pony over 138cm and not exceeding 148cm.
Ruby Carr and Ace were first in the 1m show jumping, part of the Woodford House inter-schools show jumping.
Isobel Jayne Bevitt and Bubble Gum Queen were second in the 1m show jumping.
Megan Reynolds and Indianna were fourth and sixth in the 1m show hunter, third in the novice hunter jumper with 0-5 wins, third in the hunter jumping huntsman class, and third in the hunter jumping novice adult rider over fences with 0-5 wins.
Rose Kershaw and My Luna Eclipse received several placings in the Category B show hunters, including two fourths, a second and a third. In the show jumping, Rose was fourth in the 90cm.
Lucy Ingram and What a Gentleman placed sixth in the Equestrian Sports New Zealand Amateur High Points Series Show Hunter, first in the working hunter with 0-5 wins, third in the open working hunter over 163cm, first in the hunter jumping novice with 0-5 wins, first in the open hunter jumping and second in the hunter jumping huntsmen class.
At the Waikato World Cup Show held at Takapoto Estate, Isobell Jayne Bevitt and Mangatu Solar Eclipse were placed sixth in the pony 1.15m.
McNaught and Nitro Pandora competed at the Bay of Plenty Show Hunter Spring Championship Show. They were placed third in the Big on Writing Pony Equitation Show Hunter Series, third in the Category C show hunter and were third in the Brave Pants Company Category C High Points Series.
Cindy Kershaw and Kiwi Vision made the Central Hawke’s Bay A&P Show one to remember. Competing in her first Pro Amateur Series class (sponsored by The Brave Pants Company), Cindy had the only clear round to come away with the win.
Kershaw placed second in the open horse 1.15m, and her daughter Rose also had a successful time with her pony My Luna Eclipse, placing second in the 90cm, sixth in the Liddy Memorial 1m Championships and first-equal in the 90cm.
Georgie Coop and her team also had a show to remember. Coop competed in her second AMS Saddlery Pony Grand Prix and was placed second on the consistent Barney Rubble. They were also second in the pony 1.15m show jumping.
On her pony Negroni, Coop was second in the 1.05m show jumping. With Zola, she won the Auckland and Waikato show hunter groups’ junior equitation, and was second in the Equimatch Junior High Points, second in the NRM Open High Points and third in the Open 1m Show Hunter.
Sarah Kapene and her two horses Pearl and Ziggy were placed first and third respectively in the horse 70cm show hunter. With Pearl, Kapene also picked up a fourth place in the 80cm show hunter.
Hazel Cheetham and Rivermill Clementine won the Category A 65cm show hunter and were second in the Bay of Plenty and Waikato Equitation for riders 12 years and under.
Jane Rau and French Lync were placed third in the ESNZ Amateur High Points series and were first equal in the 90cm show jumping.
Sam Brooks and the Lone Ranger were first in the 1.10m pony show jumping. With Lani, Sam was first equal in the horse 80cm show jumping.
McEwan and Dipped’n Paint were fifth in the Ruth Pinfold Real Estate 1m Show Hunter. With her pony Wembleybrook Giovanni, Molly was second in the novice pony hunter over fences for those with 0-5 wins and not exceeding 148cm.
Lucy Ingram and What a Gentleman were third in the 90cm show hunter, sixth in the ESNZ Amateur Show Hunter Series, first in the working hunter novice with 0-5 wins, and second in the open over 163cm. They were also reserve champion working hunter.
Megan Reynolds and Indianna were second in the open working hunter horse over 148cm and not exceeding 158cm, and fourth in the novice saddle hunter over 148cm with 0-2 wins.
Kaycee Andrew and Charlie Taplin were first equal in the 80cm show jumping, second in the 80cm Category C show hunter and fifth in the show hunter equitation for riders 12 years and over.
Hannah Andrew and Mount Tulloch Fantail were first-equal in the 80cm show jumping, second in the 80cm Category B show hunter and sixth in the Category B show hunter high points.
Ella Rouse and Let’s Rumble Bumble were second in the pony 1m show jumping and second in the pony mini prix. With MJK Durham, Rouse was sixth in the Mainland Coaches Junior Rider Series. She was fifth in the same class with Halo.
Following the Central Hawke’s Bay Show, Ella Rouse, Zoe McNaught and Ruby Carr went on a bit of a road trip. First stop was the Whanganui A&P Show, where Zoe and Nito Pandora were Reserve Champion Category C Show Hunter Pony.
Ruby Carr and Ace were third in the Pony Mini Prix.
The next show was the Waverly A&P Show. Carr and Ace were fourth in the pony 1m and second in the pony 1.10m.
McNaught and her pony were fourth in the Big on Writing Pony Rider Equitation Series Show Hunter and first in the Category C Show Hunter. They were named Champion Category C Show Hunter.
At the Egmont A&P Show, Rouse and Halo were fifth in the Mainland Coaches Junior Rider. At the Taranaki Jumping Show, Halo was again fourth in the Mainland Coaches Junior Rider and Let’s Rumble Bumble was third in the pony mini prix.
Eva Jean Henry competed at the Waikato Spring Show Hunter Show with Hololio Sparkling Rose. They were fourth in the Category A 60cm, first in the Category A Handy Hunter 60cm and fourth in the Category A 70cm.
The Cheetham family have had a great run of shows again, scooping many prizes with the ponies Rivermill Clementine and Breacon Bach Seal.
Briar Herries and Skibbereen Xtravagant also came home from the Hawke’s Bay and Central Hawke’s Bay shows with an array of ribbons.
A resurgence of local riders in the working hunter and hunter jumping classes has been evident. Several local riders have taken top prizes in these sections. They include Wendy Hindrup, Fraser Tombleson, Megan Kanz, Selene Mullany and Lucy Ingram.
