KEY POINTS:
Police believe two young women who were dropped off critically ill at a North Shore roadside had willingly consumed a concoction of alcohol, party pills, methamphetamine and the date-rape drug Fantasy.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident after the women, aged 18 and 19 years old, were assisted from a car by members of the public on King Edward Parade in Devonport about 10.30am on Good Friday.
The young women have been steadily improving and have spoken to the police.
Detective Sergeant Scott Armstrong of the North Shore CIB told the Herald a third man was being sought by police.
"We're in the process of identifying who he is and then piecing together what, if any, involvement he's had."
A 40-year-old West Auckland man had been charged with possession of cannabis and possession of a pipe for alleged actions in the lead-up to the women being dropped off.
An 18-year-old North Shore man - who police do not believe is connected to the events leading up to the women becoming ill - is charged with driving while disqualified and driving-related matters after allegedly dropping the young women off in the car.
