Girls flown to hospital after island injuries

Two high school students attending a camp on Motutapu Island have been injured in separate accidents and flown to hospital.

A 14-year-old girl suffered a hip injury when she fell while walking up stairs on Wednesday and was taken to hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

The helicopter returned to the island yesterday to pick up a 15-year-old girl who dislocated her knee while running.

The Marist College students were attending a Year 10 camp.
