A young girl has suffered a head injury after her hair caught in a go-kart, in what was described as an "unusual incident".
The 8-year-old girl was airlifted to hospital following the incident in Tokoroa yesterday afternoon.
She suffered a head injury, the Westpac Waikato Rescue Helicopter said.
"This was an unusual incident, a result of the patient having her hair caught in the drive mechanism of the cart while being towed by another cart," it said.
She has been transferred to Auckland's Starship Children's Hospital in a critical condition, Waikato Hospital said.
