The 6-year-old killed in a quad bike crash at Bideford on Sunday is believed to be Stokes Valley girl Abigail Jane Schmal-Singleton.
Her death notice said she was the "dearly loved and cherished daughter" of Lee Singleton and Anita Schmal.
Mr Singleton, contacted by the Times-Age, said it was ahard time for the family, and declined to comment further.
Abigail died after the 50cc children's quad bike she was riding hit a fence at the Jayden Kilmister memorial trail bike event at Te Ore Ore Bideford Rd.
St John paramedics, who were on site for the event, administered CPR but were unable to resuscitate her.

Messages left for Abigail included this from Mel and Franz: "to our darling Abby, it gives me some comfort knowing that your lunch on Sunday was sitting under a beautiful tree on a beautiful day. You were so happy. You chose the pinkest stickiest marshmallow slice with the most hundreds and thousands possible. We will miss you terribly."
The family is holding a private funeral service in Lower Hutt on Friday.
