Someone has stepped in to cheer up a 7-year-old Masterton girl - in fact quite a few people have offered to.
After the Times-Age published the story about Tegan Gadsby, whose early Christmas present of a scooter from her nana was stolen and wrecked, TVNZ journalist Simon Bradwell offered to replace it.
Tegan had taken it to school, where it was stolen and the handlebars ripped off and wheels damaged.
Her mother, Loretta, said Mr Bradwell had given her the money to get another.
"I was almost in tears, it's just amazing, I wasn't expecting it," she said. "She's very grateful for it and I'm very grateful, she's happy."
