A 15-year-old Kawakawa girl is dead after falling down a bank at the Whangarei Falls early today.
Friends found the girl's body about 10.20am, Sergeant Andy Thompson of Whangarei police told NZPA.
Her death was not considered suspicious, he said.
The 24m-high falls are 5km northeast of Whangarei.
