Police allege the man, who is known to the child and family, murdered the girl on Sunday, court documents state.
The accused is listed as living in a South Auckland suburb and the location of the alleged offence is recorded in court documents as East Tamaki.
East Tamaki is an industrial suburb in South Auckland.
He was scheduled to appear before Judge Ngaroma Tahana in the Manukau District Court today.
He’s been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, but police said earlier that he would be appearing in court charged with murder.
During sentencing, it was revealed after fatally strangling the mother of his children in the bathroom of his parents’ South Auckland home over the Christmas holiday period Jackson Ibanez Komene hid his victim in the boot of his car and went about his errands for the day − driving unaware family members in the same vehicle to a fast-food restaurant, a supermarket and other shopping destinations.
It wasn’t until later that day when he emerged from a Mitre 10 store with a single purchase - a pair of scissors, which he took to the boot before emerging with the victim’s hair in his mouth - that his family began to realise what he had done.
They convinced him to turn himself in just minutes later, showing up at the station with the body still in the boot.
Details of the bizarre case were revealed when the 25-year-old was handed a life sentence for the December 30, murder of his 24-year-old former sweetheart, Shyanne Hauwai.
