A 15-year-old girl was robbed as she walked through a Wellington inner-city park last night.
Two female teens approached the girl as she walked through Aro Park, near the top of Willis St, at 4.30am, and demanded her handbag.
When she refused to hand it over, one of the pair punched her in the face and took the bag.
They are described as Maori, about 17 or 18, one with a stocky build and one with a small build. Both were wearing light-coloured hooded sweatshirts.
Just before the assault, the young victim spoke to man who may have witnessed the incident, police said.
He is described as Caucasian, aged about 21, 1.8m tall, with spiky hair, and wearing a dark dress-coat.
Police would like to hear from this man or anyone else who may have information about the robbery.
