Girl, 11, dies in Canterbury crash

An 11 year-old girl has died after two vehicles collided on State Highway Eight in the South Island.

The crash happened near Cave, in South Canterbury, at about 7pm yesterday.

Police said a 47 year-old man was airlifted to Christchurch Hospital with serious leg injuries
