The weather saw only a few hardy souls take to the course on Saturday, and there was no competition for the day.
While the Marquis Shield team were playing at Eketahuna, it was still a good sized field that played in Sunday's medal round.
Leading the way was Kevin Gibbs with a score of 64 nett, which was comfortably ahead of Ray Loader and Paul Haxton on 69 nett.
Jim Munn kept up his good form of late to finish with a 70 nett, with Brian Stevenson rounding out the prize list with a 73 nett. Lukies Lucky Last went to Ron Hutcheson with a score of 83 nett. Noeline Stevenson scored the only hole in two on the day.
The women played in their Mills Cup competition on Sunday.
The top pairing in the Fourball competition was that of Irene Phelps and Noeline Stevenson, who scored a 62 nett.
There were two pairings that finished on 65 nett, with Heather Ousey and Trish Gallon getting the nod for second place from Cilva Richmond and Betty Loader.
The Marquis Shield team played Martinborough at Eketahuna on Sunday, and the result again saw Mahunga on the wrong end of the scoreline.
With the next round at Mahunga in just under a month, the selectors will be hoping to turn the fortunes around.
On Tuesday, it was a smaller group than usual that teed off in the veteran's stableford competition.
In the women's division, both Cilva Richmond and Noeline McGovern finished with 39 points, which was one more than Jean Bayly scored for third placing.
In the men's top group, Allan Allsworth scored 40 points to take top spot, with Peter Campbell second on 35, with Bill Christiansen next best on 34 points.
In the second group, Ross Ireland and Ray Loader both scored 39 points to share the honours, with Jim Munn rounding out the prize list on 36 points.
The ladies nearest the pins went to Yvonne Allsworth on the third hole and Judith O'Connor on the sixth, while Peter Campbell took the men's one on the sixth and Bill Graham the one on the seventh hole.
Next week's competition for the veterans group will be a Fourball best ball round.
This coming week-end has the men playing the qualifying round for the Dove trophy on Saturday, while on Sunday they will be playing the first round of the Clark Rosebowl, a best two of three par round competition.
For the ladies, Saturday see them playing in a LGU round, which is also the second round of the Nett Aggregate competition, the Coronation Medal, Aotearoa Cup and Veterans best Nett.
