Giants are aiming for revenge when they play Steelers in a Hutt Valley President's grade men's softball match at Fraser Park tomorrow.
The last time these two teams met was in the President's grade grand final last year when a hitherto unbeaten Giants suffered the disappointment of a narrow defeat.
"We're pretty keen to get one back on them ," Giants president Allan Clarke said. "That grand final loss still hurts, we want to set the record straight".
Giants have the perfect record of five wins from as many matches this season and while they will be missing two of their best batters, Richard Carroll and Terry Waitere, tomorrow Clarke is confident they still have the firepower to come up trumps.
Two other Giants sides who will be guarding unbeaten records in Hutt Valley competition play this weekend are the under-13s and the under-15s, both of whom have won from two from two.
The under-13s head to Donelley Park tomorrow to play Stokes Valley while the under-15s will host Saints at South Park, Masterton on Sunday in a match starting at 10.30am.
For the Giants under-18s their fixture against Porirua at Fraser Park tonight is a chance to secure their first win of the season, having lost their previous two.
They are the defending champions in their grade but any further lost ground would harm their prospects of a repeat.
