Giants consolidated their lead in the Hutt Valley-Wellington combined premier three men's softball competition with a commanding 18-1 win over second-placed Totara Park at Maidstone Park on Saturday.
Giants were clearly superior in all departments.
Player-coach Mark Fricker led by example with the bat, striking two automatic home runs, while Justin Karaitiana filled in as pitcher and showed his class by giving up just the two safe hits.
It was pretty much the norm when the Giants President's grade team won their Hutt Valley competition match against Bedrocks by default. They have now won in that fashion five times this season and have, in fact, taken the diamond on only three occasions for three wins.
