A giant cock being auctioned online could be the ultimate accessory for your Rugby World Cup final celebrations this weekend.
The 3m-high corrugated iron rooster is being sold on Trade Me ahead of the All Blacks v France match on Sunday, with the proceeds going towards New Zealand Wheelchair Rugby.
Cockerels are an unofficial mascot of France, with fans often releasing roosters onto the field at rugby matches.
The rooster was built by two artists in Tapawera, about 58km southwest of Nelson, and is also a functional hen house with room for about 15 hens.
It will be on show from 9am tomorrow outside Wellington's social cooking school on the city's waterfront, with the auction winner to be announced there at midday.
