A kilometre-long cream slick which covered a Bay of Plenty highway has been cleared.
Earlier, police said up to 200 litres of cream had spilt from a Fonterra tanker on State Highway 29 between Takitimu roundabout and Barkes Corner near Tauriko on the outskirts of Tauranga.
The messy incident happenedjust after midnight and blocked the road between the Lakes roundabout and Cameron Rd.
A police spokeswoman said the road reopened at 3am.
