Martinborough comedian Kim Potter is "accommodating a niche in the wedding market" by building a mobile Vegas wedding chapel that he will hitch to the back of his convertible.
Mr Potter, who became a registered marriage celebrant last year, said the project was inspired by the "evangelical preacher man persona" of his comedy character "Vinyl Burns", a "burned out 1970s Las Vegas cabaret magician who has retired here and now teaches poker and has a wedding chapel on the back of the trailer".
Although the focus of the project is to provide an entertainment hub for festivals and events, Mr Potter is serious about offering the mobile venue and his services as a celebrant for bona fide weddings.
"Weddings are always traditionally such a serious day," he said.
"Nobody wants to screw it up and so nobody wants to take a chance.
