Wheels churned as 360 riders turned out for the annual St Teresa's School fundraiser Trail Bike Ride at Waiorongomai Station on Sunday. St Teresa's School board of trustee chairwoman and station owner said the fundraiser was beyond expectations - raising about $9500.
Mrs Karla Matthews said Saturday's wind and rain had petered out and left good conditions for the ride.
"The feedback was just fantastic. It was a bit wet in places, there was fair bit of mud flying around, but we had amazing feedback and we're absolutely thrilled."
The money raised will be going towards maths resources for all classrooms and toward non-classroom activities, such as trips away. Mrs Matthews said it would not have been possible without the generosity of sponsors.
