Masterton non-profit organisations have until the end of this month to apply for assistance under Lands Trust Masterton's annual community grants round.
Groups working on projects and initiatives that contribute to the development of education and culture in Masterton are encouraged to take advantage of the grants that are made possible by community ownership of property in the town.
Last year more than $356,000 was provided by the trust to support community initiatives in Masterton. A further $659,000 was provided in the form of educational and non-cash grants.
Community grant recipients must operate within the trust's district and priority is given to educational and cultural work rather than health and sport for which there are other funding avenues.
The application form is available from the trust offices at 189 Queen St or can be downloaded from www.ltm.org.nz.
