The gender pay gap has closed from 11.3 per cent last year to 10.6 per cent, Women's Affairs Minister Pansy Wong says.
It was now the closest since the New Zealand Income Survey began in 1997, Ms Wong said citing the latest statistics.
"The pay gap had been stalled at around 12 per cent since 2001 but has continued to fall for the past two years which is a welcome trend," she said.
