Destiny Church fears New Zealand might take a lead from Sweden in taking the next step up from a civil union.
The Scandinavian country is set to become the first in the world to allow gay people to marry in a major church, namely the Lutheran Church, the Radio Network reported.
Destiny spokesman Richard Lewis says given the New Zealand Government's track record, he would not be surprised to see the Labour Party jump on the bandwagon and bring in similar changes here.
