Emergency services are on alert in Christchurch, after a gas leak at the Tegal Foods building on Carmen Rd.
The Fire Service is at the scene with a decontamination unit to tackle the ammonia leak. Police have put up cordons.
Some houses are understood to have been temporarily evacuated.
