Emergency services and contractors have closed part of Deep Creek Rd in Torbay, Auckland as they isolate and repair a ruptured gas main.
No evacuations have been necessary, but the road is closed between Weatherly Rd and Alexander Ave.
Bus routes are affected and bus companies are being notified.
The closures are expected to remain in place for at least an hour. The Alexander Ave entrance to Torbay school remains unaffected.
