Gas leak in Christchurch city

Part of central Christchurch has been closed down after a gas leak.

Cordons are in place at the intersection of Gloucester St and Montreal St near the Arts Centre after a contractor hit a gas main.

A Fire Service spokeswoman says the contractor is working on fixing the leak.
