Garage to be saved from cliff

Contractors are expected to move a garage from a North Shore clifftop in the next day or two to stop it falling into the sea.

The garage sits next to a $1 million Birkenhead Point house that has been declared unsafe because of a crumbling 40m cliff.

North Shore City Council says it moved urgently under emergency provisions to move the garage.
