KEY POINTS:
A Hell's Angel gang member has had his 10-year jail sentence for drug and firearms offences increased by two years after an appeal by the Solicitor-General.
Lyall Charles Henwood was convicted of 21 charges spanning two trials last year after police found a disassembled P lab, cannabis worth $40,000-$70,000, and 14 firearms in a shed leased to him in Hastings.
At his sentencing the Crown contended the jail term should have been no less than 12 years but Justice John Wild disagreed and imposed a sentence of 10 years.
Justice Wild had described Henwood as a "major player" in an organised methamphetamine operation.
The Solicitor-General's appeal was upheld by the Court of Appeal which increased the sentence to 12 years with a minimum non-parole period of six years.
