A jury took six hours to find Mongrel Mob member Thomas William Grace not guilty of attempted murder at the High Court in Gisborne yesterday.
The 34-year-old was also found not guilty on a second count of discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The two counts related to an incident in the early hours of November 6 in the main street of Gisborne, when Grace produced a sawn-off .22 calibre rifle and fired one shot in the vicinity of a group of people who had affiliations with the rival Black Power gang.
Grace had earlier pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm and will be sentenced on that charge early next year.
