An email warning drivers not to flash their lights at oncoming traffic because they could fall victim to a gang initiation is a hoax, police say.
The email, about two weeks ago, said drivers who flashed their lights would become the target of a gang initiation which involved shooting and killing everyone in the car.
Police national crime manager Detective Superintendent Malcolm Burgess said the email was a hoax and anyone who received it should delete it.
