Gang battle outside Napier supermarket

A gang battle erupted on the streets of Napier this afternoon.

The battle, believed to be between patched Mongrel Mob and Black Power members, broke out outside the Tamatea Pak 'n Save about 3.45pm, a police spokesman told NZPA.

Some of those injured in the fight outside the Leicester Street shop were taken to hospital, and police were still talking to a number of people at the scene.

Police appealed for witnesses.
