Welcome to Element's Gamer Changers, a fascinating series of speed talks from the most interesting people in the magazine's orbit.
For more than forty years Tony Watkins has been concerned about the way in which a healthy built environment can contribute both to the health of the planet and to our own health. Tony is an architect, an urban designer and a planner. Much of his work has been at an international level, but he has lectured for many years at the University of Auckland.
Neither of his two homes - one at Karaka Bay, another in Northland, have road access, the latter being an hour's walk from the nearest road. His book The Human House sets out his philosophy.
