A lengthy meeting of the all-party Parliamentary Service Commission was unable to make a final decision on the future funding of special services for profoundly deaf MP Mojo Mathers.
In the meantime until a such a decision is reached, funding to pay for electronic note-taking of debates in the House will continue to come from the Speaker's office.
Speaker Lockwood Smith said the Green MP was now getting all the assistance she needed to function properly as member of Parliament .
He said there were still some "complex issues" to be resolved around how that assistance would be permanently funded.
