More charges have been laid against one of two brothers being held in custody on charges alleging a driveby shooting in the Christchurch suburb of Aranui on Waitangi Day, the Christchurch court news website reports.
Christopher Allan McKenzie, 30, a self-employed mechanic, and Daniel Robert McKenzie, 25, both of Sydenham, are charged with discharging a firearm at a woman with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
They have been held in custody since their arrest the day of the alleged shooting, and Christchurch District Court Judge Garry MacAskill today continued their remand in custody to a day-long depositions hearing on April 18.
Christopher McKenzie today faced three further charges of disorderly behaviour, failing to answer district court bail, and possession of the class A drug methamphetamine. They will be called again on March 20.
