Furniture truck rolls on SH1

A furniture truck rolled, injuring its two occupants and disrupting traffic, on State Highway 1 south of Hunterville early today.

Police said that truck rolled at Rata, 10km south of Hunterville bringing down a power pole.

The two people on board sustained minor injuries.

Police Sergeant Andrzej Kowalczyk said that the pole had been removed and the truck finished up on the side of the road which meant that both lanes of the highway remained open.

However, police urged motorists to slow down as they approached the area and be patient if asked to wait as the emergency services clear the scene.
