Uptoo the domestic shorthair was a stray rescued off the streets by an SPCA inspector two-and-a-half months ago.
The 1-year-old is deaf, and arrived at the village with a nasty infection on his side, requiring a hefty course of antibiotics.
Feline attendant Justine Somerville says deafness is common in white cats.
SPCA inspector Vicki Border fostered Uptoo at her home - alongside her seven other cats - during his recovery.
"He's the coolest little guy," says Ms Border. "He's very funny."
Uptoo is now in good health and up for adoption.
His disability means he is suitable to be an indoors cat - so he'd be perfect for an apartment dweller.
Readers interested in adopting Uptoo, or any other animal at the village, should contact the SPCA on (09) 256-7300.
Uptoo's ID is 153732.
