KEY POINTS:
School friends of murdered teenager Liberty Templeman have shared memories of the girl they describe as their angel and inspiration.
Hundreds of guests of all ages turned out in Kerikeri for the funeral of the 15-year-old whose body was found near a stream in the Far North town nearly a week ago.
Liberty's love of drama and music featured throughout the service and guests laughed along with videos of the teen playing up for the camera.
Liberty's family is from England and former overseas classmates sent tributes including a song they wrote for their friend. They said she was an angel and it is not goodbye, but see you later.
Guests were asked not to wear black to the funeral but to go in bright colours. Many wore orange, Liberty's favourite colour. The teen's favourite music was played by artists including Green Day, Alicia Key and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
A private cremation is being held.
A 14-year-old boy who Liberty knew, has been charged with her murder and indecent assault.
