About 200 people attended the funeral service for Te Puke kiwifruit orchardist Andrew Clink at Tauranga Park in Pyes Pa yesterday.
Mr Clink, 53, was killed in a freak accident that left the popular Bay of Plenty orchardist with a 15cm bolt lodged in his skull last Wednesday.
Mr Clink, who died in Tauranga Hospital, was thought to be repairing the clutch on a sprayer when the accident happened between 3pm and 5pm.
Mr Clink is survived by his wife Sandi and his two children. Mrs Clink said her husband was a "highly professional mechanic'' and regarded the tragedy as a "one-in-a-million accident''.
The Department of Labour is investigating.
